Designer Makoto Matsui presented his first collection, Abelia Edward Gosha, in 2021.

The brand name comes from a small flower he often saw on his way to school, reflecting his eye for capturing inspiration in everyday moments.

Makoto works freely, without being confined to any particular framework, creating each season the pieces he truly wants to make.

His designs are fluid, revealing an elegant grace through delicate details.

Unlike typical jeans, this piece is designed with a simple, clean silhouette that falls straight, almost like doll clothing.

The inspiration comes from “fake jeans”—not counterfeit the brand, but a garment that imitates the appearance of jeans themselves.

The idea of creating “fake jeans” led to an intentionally artificial yet strangely authentic design: clean, minimal, and giving the impression of having been worn and washed once.
